What happens if a virus is detected?

A

■ When receiving email (in Asahi Net inbox)

If incoming virus-infected email is detected, the Asahi Net email server will remove the infected attachment and deliver it to the recipient's inbox after changing the subject as follows:

[Virus Detected/A virus has been removed] <The original subject>



Example: If attachment eicar.com is a virus-infected file (eicar_test_file).


*Below is a message added to the main body of the email.

The file attached to this email was removed because it was infected the virus.



Virus Name: eicar_test_file

File Attachment: eicar.com



--- Original message ---

(Followed by the original main body of the email)

*Below is a text added to the email header:

X-VirusCheck:Delete Attachment





The message which will be added when a virus is removed may vary depending on the type of infected attachment and nature of virus.

Also, if Japanese characters are used for file name, the message may be broken due to partially corrupted text.





■When sending email

Virus will also be checked for sending email if outgoing email server for Email Virus Check Service is used, and you can avoid the risk of being the sender of virus email.



If email with virus-infected attachment is detected, the email server will remove the virus (and the attachment) and deliver it to the sender's inbox after changing the subject as follows:
[Virus Detected/A virus has been removed] <The original subject>
Please note that this email will not be delivered to the recipient.




Example: If attachment eicar.com is a virus-infected file (eicar_test_file).


*Below is the main body of the email.

Virus Name: eicar_test_file

Deleted Attachment File: eicar.com
